4CBC is committed to do this mission work in our neighborhood, our county, our state, our country, and our world.
Here are some of our commitments to missions:
Our Neighborhood:
Partnering with Loughman Oaks Elementary — 4CBC supports the school's backpack program, which provides food for under-privileged children to take home for the weekends.
Summer Vacation Bible School (VBS) — Every summer, 4CBC hosts an exciting, week-long VBS. There is music, crafts, games, and lots and lots of fun! Look for online registration in the late Spring.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service — every Christmas Eve, we host a beautiful candlelight service so families in the community can celebrate the real “reason for the season.”
Election Day Kindness — 4CBC is an official election polling place, and every election day 4CBC has teams of volunteers in our parking lot greeting the voters with coffee, water bottles, and light refreshments...just another way to show God's love in a practical way.
Our County:
Ridge Baptist Association — 4CBC supports financially and is an active member of this association of churches that work together to reach Polk County for Christ.
"The Way" — 4CBC partners with “The Way”, a community food/assistance center located in Haines City that helps families with food, housing, and other needs.
Our State:
A New Church Plant — 4CBC is actively helping Grace Baptist Church, a new church plant in the Four Corners area.
Florida Baptist Convention — 4CBC supports financially and is an active member of this state organization of churches that work together in many different areas of mission work in Florida.
Our Nation:
Southern Baptist Convention — 4CBC supports financially and is an active member of this organization of churches that have a common mission. There are over 40,000 churches with nearly 16 million members.The Mission Statement of the SBC is consistent with Jesus' directive mentioned above: As a convention of churches, our missional vision is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person in the world and to make disciples of all the nations."
4CBC American Mission Trips — 4CBC has led mission trips to Montana to help start a new church by converting an old bar into a worship center for this new church plant; to West Virginia where we did Bible Clubs in the neighborhoods as well as street evangelism; to Kentucky where we helped a new church start by reaching out into their community with information door to door, doing free car washes, and helping to host a grand opening Sunday service and meal to New Orleans as we did street evangelism with our youth.
Our World:
International Mission Board — 4CBC supports foreign missions through the International Mission Board. The IMB is part of the Southern Baptist Convention and currently has 4484 missionaries on foreign soil and over 3400 student volunteers. In 2012 there were over 266,000 baptisms and a total foreign church membership of 2.5 million.
Operation Christmas Child — Partnering with the Samaritan's Purse Organization, during the fall we collect shoeboxes filled with toys and other items that are then distributed to children all over the world. They are then followed-up with the Gospel.
Cups Of Cold Water — We partner with Mike Williams in the Dominican Republic in this ministry that serves children and families, Teams from 4CBC have visited the Dominican Republic to serve with this ministry, and more mission trips are currently planned. Regular monthly funds are sent to help support this ministry.
Manna Worldwide — Manna Worldwide is committed to addressing nutritional, educational, and spiritual needs of children and their families. Missionary Shawn Sullivan and his wife Amy are missionaries to Eastern Europe and Eurasia, focusing on bettering the lives of children, operating 96 nutrition centers and 14 orphanages. Pastor Paul and Geri have personally visited the mission in the Ukraine to assist with the children. Monthly support is provided by 4CBC.
Cord Ministries — 4CBC has led multiple mission trips to Acuna, Peadros Negros and Juarez Mexico, partnering with Cord Ministries to reach the next generation. Regular monthly financial support is also provided. The focus has been to feed the children and families (both physically and spiritually) in some of the poorest villages. This also involves church construction and ministry with the children.
