God Is Faithful
Multiple health problems were occurring to me. A heart catheterization revealed damaged heart valves…oxygen levels were low in my blood due to sleep apnea…a problem in my kidneys was developing…and a cancerous melanoma was discovered on my arm.
Through it all, God was always true and faithful, and I loved Him for all He did for me.
After two surgeries, night-time oxygen, and other medical treatments, I feel good again. My kidney problems are reversed and gone and my energy is coming back.
I know I was close to death several times, because the medical personnel said so. I also know that I will leave this earth in the time that God has set. I can relate to Paul when he said, “to die is gain.” We (who know Jesus as Savior) have a promise from the One who never breaks a promise. To remain here is the honor to serve my Lord, so I am happy either way. I have also been more aware of the real meaning of the verse that tell us to be “content in whatever state I am in.” My contentment does not come from the situation but from the joy of the Lord. He is in total control and nothing can happen to me without His permission. I am in the hollow of His hand.
