Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for digging a little deeper to get your questions answered. Please feel free to Contact 4CBC if you would like to talk more. We would love to meet you!

I’m not sure what I believe, am I still welcome?
Yes. Definitely yes! The very fact that you are reading this page shows that you are a seeker. We are all in different places in our faith-journey, and no matter where you are, you are welcome here. Our very mission is “Moving People Toward Christ”!
What can I expect on a Sunday?
You will be greeted by a new friend when you arrive who will show you where to go. There are Small Group Bible Study classes at 9:30, and the Worship Service is at 11:00. The service features the best of today’s contemporary Christian music. At 10:30 there are complimentary refreshments in the Cafe. The service usually lasts about one hour.
Is there anything for my kids?
Children are a special part of our congregation and we value them as full participants in the life of our church, so much so that we have designated an entire building just for kids. Some young children may find it difficult to leave their parents in an unfamiliar setting, so it is perfectly okay for them to stay with you. We even have a "Mom's Room" at the rear of the Sanctuary where you can see and hear the service and your little ones can play. The safe Kid Central building has a nursery & pre-school staffed by trained workers with background checks. At 9:30 am on Sundays Kid Central has Sunday School, and at 11:00 am we have an exciting Kids Church that features fun, music, dancing, crazy characters, and entertaining Bible lessons that will keep the kids wanting to return.
How should I dress?
Come as you are. We care about you - not what you wear. “People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” – 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)
Will I be made to stand up, or introduce myself, or be singled out in any way?
No way! We respect your privacy and your desire to worship with us at your own comfort level. We'll never call on you, or ask you to introduce yourself.
How can I grow in my faith?
Actually, we have many different kinds of ways such as the weekly Worship Services. Also, groups of people get together in Small Groups, an extended Bible Study on Wednesday nights, and we regularly get together to accomplish projects that help the community.
Why are you doing so much in the community?
Our simple answer: we want to show God’s love in practical ways. We are determined that kindness is the most effective way to share His love. Through organized Events and through individual random acts of kindness – we are passionate about “paying forward” the incredible love of God. We love to work with other churches and with community organizations such the American Heart Association, Polk County Public Schools, ESOL (English as a second language) classes, and Mentoring at Loughman Oaks Elementary School. You'll see us partnering with others to help cause good things to happen in our community.
Do you believe in the Bible?
Yes! God's Word is our final authority. So many people in our generation have a tough time understanding Scripture and seeing that it really has practical meaning for their lives. We never ignore truth because we want people to like us, but we will package truth within the language of our culture. We not only believe the Bible is 100% true and accurate, but we believe that it has the power to transform lives.
Who goes to your church?
We have quite a diverse group of people at 4CBC. Our congregation spans all ages. You’ll find just about every type of person here – married, single, divorced, widowed, professionals, workers, retired, teens – life-long Floridians and those who have just recently moved to the area – and even “Snow-Birds” who are here part of the year. There is even a small group entirely in Spanish. But even more important than the kind of people who go here is the kind of people who are welcome here – everyone!
Am I expected to give during the offering?
Nope. You are our guest. 4CBC is funded entirely by the generosity of its members and regular attendees. Visit our Give page for more information.
What denomination are you?
We are part of the Southern Baptist Convention, which is a group of like-minded churches that cooperate in order to share the Good News about Jesus with our community, nation, and world.
